Boxee Bags $6M from GC, Spark

Cambridge, MA, venture firm General Catalyst Partners is the lead investor in a $6 million Series B funding round announced today by New York, NY-based Boxee, which makes video browser software for navigating online video offerings on the large screen of a television. Existing investor Spark Capital of Boston was also in on the round, along with New York-based Union Square Ventures. The company has raised $10 million in venture capital altogether, and plans to release an improved beta version of its software this fall.
