Wade Roush 7/8/09

Maynard, MA-based Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW), which maintains the world’s largest job listings site, said today that it will eliminate 160 positions globally as part of a restructuring. Fifty of the layoffs will occur at the Maynard headquarters. (We’ve updated our Boston Tech Layoff Tracker accordingly.) At the same time, Monster announced that it will open a new “Technology Center of Excellence & Innovation” in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA, where it will hire at least 80 new technical employees to develop next-generation products and search technologies.
