Day Moves to Black Coral Capital

Wade Roush 7/6/09

Rob Day, a former principal at Wilmington, MA-based cleantech investor @Ventures, has announced that he’s moving to Black Coral Capital, a new energy-focused private equity fund with offices in Boston, Montreal, and New York. Day said in a note to colleagues that he will be helping to launch the firm’s investment activities. He’s joined at Black Coral by Christian Zabbal, formerly of investment advisor ghSmart and McKinsey & Company; the company says it “invests exclusively in cleantech and alternative energy plays” and is “generally interested in smarter use of energy resources, and in plays that leverage existing infrastructures.” In a September 2007 profile we wrote about Day’s decision to leave California for the New England cleantech investing scene.
