The Globe article from June 13 explained the background well: When E Ink accepted a $15 million loan from PVI last year -- in the middle of the economic meltdown, remember, and before the Kindle had really taken off -- PVI got the right to bid $215 million for the company this spring. So Russ was committed to take the offer to his board.</description>
