RI Entrepreneurship Center Launched

Ryan McBride4/28/09

The Rhode Island Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which stakeholders have billed as a “community center for entrepreneurs,” was launched today in Providence to help entrepreneurs in the state find the resources they need to start new companies in the technology, life sciences, design, and other segments of the so-called knowledge economy, according to a press release. The state, through multiple sources, has committed $100,000 in funding for the center for each of the next two years. Also, Brown University has donated up to 5,000 square feet of space for the center in a building at 1 Davol Square and will pay the salaries and benefits of the center’s staff.
