Fairchild Sues Infineon

Wade Roush12/1/08

Fairchild Semiconductor, based in South Portland, ME, said in an announcement Friday that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against German chipmaker Infineon Technologies. The two companies have been attempting to negotiate cross-licensing arrangements regarding Infineon switches and power converters using technology that Fairchild believes it has patented; the negotiations broke down and Fairchild has now sued Infineon in U.S. District Courts in Maine and Delaware.
