Forma Buys SolMap Assets

Wade Roush10/2/08

Mercury Computing Systems of Chelmsford, MA, a maker of embedded imaging, sensing, and signal processing hardware and software, said today that it has sold the assets of its biotech venture, SolMap Pharmaceuticals, to Cambridge, MA-based FORMA Therapeutics. FORMA, recently funded to the tune of $4 million by the venture capital arm of Novartis, is using genomic techniques to explore new treatments for cancer and other conditions. Mercury didn’t say how much FORMA will pay for SolMap, a startup based on the computational drug design work of Boston University professor Sandor Vajda.
