Helicos Forms Collaboration with Uppsala University Researchers

Helicos Biosciences, (NASDAQ: HLCS) the Cambridge, MA-based maker of genetic analysis tools, said today that a genomics research group at Sweden’s Uppsala University has agreed to collaborate with the company’s scientists to examine changes in the nucleus of cells when they are exposed to growth factor proteins. Separately, the company announced that a U.S. cancer research center, which it didn’t name, has placed an order for the Helicos Genetic Analysis System for a research program looking at cancer stem cells.
