We build advanced ROV’s (Remote Operated underwater Vehicles) at the Gloucester High School. We also do Rockets as well as Robotics. This is in spite of the fact that Lab Time was cut from students. 16.67% of our contact time has been cut from our students. What 16.67% of the curriculum should be cut???? This fly’s in the face of what we all know as educators and engineers, you have to touch and play to retain information. Kinesthetic approach (hands – on) is the way to teach advanced material not lecture based 2 dimensional book / board work. We teachers are doing the best we can to fix the lack of knowledge our students come to us with and leave us with. We can’t do any MORE with any LESS. Can you feel our frustration. It will not change until we (the Teachers and Business companies) stand together and demand more that we will be able to raise the level of students that we are producing here in America. Anyone want to come see what we already do with what little we get please call Gloucester High School and visit. Anyone want to collaborate; give the school a call and ask for Coach L. room 3404
