Xconomist Noubar Afeyan, co-founder and CEO of Flagship Ventures in Cambridge, MA, was one of those awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the National Ethnic Coalition (NECO) over the weekend. Afeyan received the award in recognition of “his achievements not only as a successful technologist and entrepreneur, but also as a humanitarian who has had a positive impact on his local community and in his ethnic home country of Armenia,” according to a NECO press release.
