Independent Film Festival Boston

04/23/08 - 04/29/08
Various theaters around Boston

Now in its seventh year, Independent Film Festival Boston is a week-long bonanza of great new feature, documentary, and short films from independent producers. We particularly recommend two technology-oriented films:

Nerdcore Rising: East Coast premire of a film documenting the world of geeksta rap with a focus on Damian Hess, aka MC Frontalot. The premiere, sponsored by airline software company ITA Software, will be at midnight on April 25 (Friday night, that is) at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square. There will be a repeat showing at the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square at 5:00 p.m.

Second Skin: Another East Coast premiere, this documentary follows seven enthusiasts of massively multiplayer online role playing games, including Everquest and World of Warcraft. Showing at the Somerville Theatre April 24 at 9:30 p.m. and April 25 at 6:45 p.m.
