Harvard Taps Former Officer to Manage Endowment

Robert Buderi3/28/08

Harvard Management Company announced today that it has selected former senior investment officer Jane Mendillo to oversee the university’s vast endowment. Mendillo, who had previously served at Harvard Management for nearly 15 years, left in 2002 to become chief investment officer of Wellesley College. Harvard’s endowment was valued at $34.9 billion as of June 30. Mendillo’s selection as president and CEO fills a void left open since last fall, when predecessor Mohamed El-Arian announced his resignation.
