Bristol-Myers Squibb Unit Now Independent

Rebecca Zacks 3/18/08

The diagnostics business unit formerly known as Bristol-Myers Squibb Medical Imaging is now an independent firm called Lantheus Medical Imaging, the N. Billerica, MA–based company announced today. The news follows the sale of the unit to private equity firm Avista Capital Partners, which was announced in December. Lantheus makes a suite of diagnostic products including the heart imaging agent Cardiolite, one of the top royalty earners in MIT’s patent portfolio.
