Highland Capital Partners’ Consumer Fund, which Xconomy profiled here, has acquired—and made a strategic growth equity investment in—Boston-born athletic retailer City Sports, which currently operates 14 stores along the east coast. No financial terms were disclosed, but City Sports founder and CEO Mike Kennedy said in a statement today that Highland “will be instrumental as we continue to pursue our expansion strategy.”
