Regarding the Angel Group Syndication Treaty:

Angel groups that participate in syndications should be signers of the "Agreement for Cooperation and Due Diligence Sharing." The Treaty may be found at http://beaconangels.com/Angel%20Group%20DD%20Treaty.pdf

Contact me through the Beacon Angels Web site to add your group to those that have signed.

The MIT Enterprise Forum produced two angel programs in cooperation with ACA and Kauffman in 2005 and 2006. They still hold up well today and can be viewed at http://mitworld.mit.edu/video/280/ and at http://mitworld.mit.edu/video/371/

A friendly tip for entrepreneurs.

The very best way to get our attention here at the eCoast Angels is to be introduced by a respected business person who both knows you and knows us.

This isn't as hard as it may sound. If you have been attending any buiness networking or entrepreneurial support groups in New England you have already met someone who knows at least one of us. Be entrepreneurial, ask.

Regarding Mort Goulder and the Breakfast Club:

On a cruise in 1976, Mort met Dick Morley. After some discussion they joined George Schwenk in starting The Breakfast Club, an informal group of investors that have helped new companies get off the ground for 30 years.

"He taught me a lot," Morley said. "He showed me the world is not entirety technical and logical." Goulder expected his "geek" friends to move beyond technology and influence other aspects of life, Morley said.

The Breakfast Club reviewed about two business deals a week, and invested in about four companies a year, Morley said. Morley and Schwenk estimate that the club has boosted more than 100 startups.
