Verenium Files $150 Million Shelf Registration

Verenium (NASDAQ: VRNM), a Cambridge, MA-based biofuel firm, filed a shelf registration statement covering the potential issuance of up to $150 million of stock, debt securities, or warrants. The filing also covers the potential resale of 3 million shares of Verenium common stock by Syngenta (with which Verenium has a strategic alliance) and its affiliates. Verenium was formed just five months ago through the merger of Cambridge’s Celunol and San Diego’s Diversa.
