Tim Keane has spent the last 30 years in startup and growth company environments, first as the founder and CEO of a successful software company, RTMS, Inc. (later NuEdge Systems, LLC), and, since 2002, as director of Golden Angels Investors, a group of about 100 members, primarily in Illinois and Wisconsin.
RTMS, Inc. is a leading software provider of advanced analytic systems for major retailers and financial institutions. (Sales in 2000 of $20MM). Today it is a unit of Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) Jacksonville, FL.
Since 2003, he has been the entrepreneur in residence at Marquette University where he teaches an MBA class each fall and manages university technology transfer contract negotiation activities.
In his role as director of Golden Angels, he is a board director of three portfolio companies, as well as First Business Bank and private-equity backed Nationwide Learning of Kansas City.
He was a founding director of the Angel Capital Association and served on the boards of inner city development agency Local Initiatives Support Corp. and The Initiative For a Competitive Inner City. He is the chair of the Wisconsin Angel Network, a state-based trade association.
Before founding Retail Target Marketing Systems, Inc. in 1984 he was the manager of worldwide marketing communications for GE Healthcare located in Waukesha, WI.
He is a graduate of Marquette University and Seattle University.
