Stephen Rapundalo

Dr. Rapundalo has broad experience in the life sciences with an extensive background in pharmaceutical R&D. He spent almost 20 years in scientific, management and strategic planning positions with Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research and then Pfizer Inc. He has a strong record of innovation and is internationally recognized and published in several technology areas. Since his appointment as Executive Director in April 2006, Dr. Rapundalo has quickly established MichBio as the authoritative organization for the state’s biosciences community. He has focused on raising the image and visibility of Michigan’s bio-industry and its many assets, capabilities and talent. Dr. Rapundalo has launched new program initiatives and services, enhanced communications and promotion, and developed the organization as a key referral source for business support information. Furthermore, he has built a robust advocacy infrastructure at the state and federal levels to shape economic development policy that can aid in growing the state’s bio-industry.
