Gerry Hays is a 4x Founder, Business Owner, Investor, Inventor, Author, and award-winning professor at a top 25 Business School. Hays is currently spending his time launching and building DinnerCall®, a marketplace for family dinners, prepared by local grocery stores. DinnerCall is a public benefit corporation and invests part of its proceeds to remind society about the importance of being present with others while eating dinner. Previously, Hays co-founded and co-built Kingmaker Foods, a level-3 SQF food manufacturer, which continues to serve many of the top Grocers in the country and is growing at 20%+ per year. Other businesses Hays co-founded include Apparel Media Group (Acquired), CoatChex (appeared on Shark Tank, going concern), and HomeYeah.com (Acquired).
In addition to building companies, Hays teaches Venture Capital & Entrepreneurial Finance at the Indiana University School of Business where he has earned 5 teaching awards over a 7-year period. During this time, Hays invented The Venture Game™, a 6-week simulation that teaches students the process of raising equity capital and authored “The First Time Founders’ Equity Bible”.
Hays has been married to his college sweetheart, Angela, for 23 years and has 3 children: Carter, Anika, and Alan.
Hays earned a JD from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a BA, Political Science from Indiana University.
